Following a rebrand and a move to Media City in Manchester, ITV needed to increase their visibility around their new studios. We were asked to investigate a range of ideas that would apply their new branding physically to the environment. Following this exploration we were commissioned to create public seating with an interactive signage element.
We wanted our seating to define a place that could be used in different ways by different people. Through extensive prototyping and investigation of form we developed a concept that would encourage people to meet, eat, chat and interact with each other. We worked with skilled manufacturers to craft a flowing steel ribbon bench that also references the ITV logo.
At one end of the sculptural seating we included an interactive pod that links to a large sign at the top of the studio building. Using our custom developed software, visitors can interact with the ITV brand by selecting and changing the colours of the logo segments.
